...I dont know but I guess maybe its gotten infected even thou shes on the antibiotics and Ive been keeping it as clean as it couble be possiblely kept, shes on fresh bedding and its wrapped up with antibiotic ointment too. It looked fine, better then fine even, last night when I rebandaged it, no sweeling, heat or major discharge but just a lil while ago I ran over to check on her and it looks just horrible. All along her cannon bone around the cut is now very swollen, hot and theres a lot of yucky colored discharge on the bandages that I took off, shes acting pretty sore on it to All the other cuts and scrapes look fine. I took her temp but its normal and she isnt refusing grain but she isnt her normal eager eater self either. I knew something was wrong when I first went into her stall cause she didnt make her normal inspections of my pocket for her carrots. My vet is not around today but his partner is so he is on his way over in the next hour or so. I dont understand how overnight her leg could have changed so much for the worst when it was looking so great yesterday, I was so happy it was healing so good.

tina keep us posted. Cometimes these things do happen, but keep in mind that it doesn't mean that she's in trouble. A lot of times, durung the healing process, due to standing and so on, it looks worse than it is, but is actually healing. Hang in there - a horse at our barn cut his lower leg very bad, and just when it looked like it was getting better, it would look worse the next day, but he healed fine. I will be thinking of both of you and please let us know!

Let us know what the vet says. Some swelling is normal and the icky stuff on the bandage might be a normal sluffing off of dead tissue... but it's best to have the vet check it. chris

Good idea to have a vet out. Maybe Tango will get an extra shot of antibiotic or something. I understand your worry, and I'll be hoping for a quick recovery for Tango. Give her a carrot from Cypress
