I was wondering if the product "Buteless" is as effective as regular Bute without all the horrible side effects? Also, where can I buy it other then the UK?

I used the B-L Solution on a 27 yr old QH and I loved the results. We had been breaking a bute tablet into 4 parts and sticking them in apple quarters to give to her and we were afraid of the long term effects of Bute so thought we would try the BL as an alternative. She actually seemed to have more energy and interest in things on the BL and is still going strong 4 years later. I would try that first Fancy.

Gershwin is on the B-L pellets, and they have been great for us. He has been on it since the fall and no side effects. Plus he loves the taste

Did you decide yet what you were going to do?

I'm going to pass. I found an article on it and isn't good for horses who race, will increase bleeding during exercise.

It also tests... it contains devils claw. Not sure if they test for that in racing or not.

It's another NSAID, but Equioxx has been proven to be as effective as bute with a lower incidence of intestinal upset/damage.

Our vet gave it to Dunk for three days when we changed his hoof angle and put shoes on him. Honestly I don't know if it worked or not, he was a bucking bronc the second day he had shoes!
