Ok, when I had my first horse I still worked in a hospital, a vet could have done surgery on the premisis with everything I had.
I'm looking for suggestions on topicals for cuts, used to use Furacin spray for everything, have since heard it can cause cancer?
Wraps for injuries, do I want thin cottons, the quilteds are for traveling correct? It's been a long time. Yes, I know how to wrap, we had to do it every weekend for showing.
Vet wrap, gauze pads, thermometer, banamine... I don't want a huge kit, but something that will fit most needs. What else am I missing?

In my vet kit, I have:
Eclipse Wound Wash for cleaning up injuries
Nolvasan cream for dealing with "scratches" and keratitis
Triple antibiotic ointment for healing cuts and scrapes (generic Neomycin)
4x4 non-stick gauze pads, cling gauze rolls, sheet cotton and Vetrap for covering injuries that need to stay clean
Quilted wraps and flannel standing bandages
Scissors
Permanent marker
Stethascope
Thermometer
Catheter-tip syringe
Dose syringe
saline eye wash
Bute paste
Banamine paste
Electrolyte paste
Probios paste
Duct tape
Surgical gloves
I also have crease pullers, hoof nippers and a rasp for dealing with errant shoes.

now don't laugh but I also have baby diapers for wrapping hooves and maxi pads as they sure are easy to slap on a wound until the vet can get there. Otherwise Teach pretty much gave a complete list for a first aid kit. Also zinc oxide.

Thank you! That gives me a nice guide line to go by. Instead of bute I'm going to ask my vet about the newer med that's supposed to be easier on their tummies, got gentle bellies here.

Another thing I need to get are decent coolers, what is the best material to let the heat through? I've had a cheap one or two that traps everything under it.

The new NSAID (Equioxx, I believe) is one I haven't tried yet, but it's on my list when I'm out of my current bute.
Wool is the best at conducting heat and moisture. I also like Polartec, then wool/acrylic.

Thanks Teach! We did use the Equioxx for three days after new shoes on Dunk when he was diagnosed with navicular. Not sure if it helped or if the shoes and new angle made him feel better though lol.
I've printed this out and will go shopping now =)
