I'm so excited that I actually fit into my show clothes that have been in my closet for 3 1/2 years or so. However, where is this hunger coming from I was doing so well on my reduced calories. Now the same regimin is not controlling the desire to EAT. Maybe it's the cloudy skys and all this stupid snow

You're not the only one! Maybe it's the change of season? I was doing really well too, lost about 10 pounds but now I am slipping again towards Nutella sandwiches...I seem to be hungry all the time....sure I could eat baby carrots and stuff but bread and cookies are so much more tempting...*sigh*

in munchy-emergencies I have one of the following: small bowl of cereal + big glass of water Fruit + big glass of water Find something to occupy yourself for 20 mins after that snack, and you'll probably survive! The sugars/fiber in these snacks curb the cravings, and the water gives that "full" feeling. IT does work.

I've been in the same boat. I've been trying, but am unable to lose any weight so far. When I get cravings, I try to find something semi-healthy and eat it slowly. This morning, it was a pretzel stick. On Saturday, I was reaching for cookies as a snack, and instead ate celery with peanut butter. Hopefully a little healthier? I don't know...I just hope this pays off soon!

Think of hunger pangs as "body language". The hunger pangs are saying: "I'm losing weight." I dont' know why sometimes one can go for a long time without eating and not feel hungry and other times one feels hungry even when she's eating. eta: Congratulations on the weight loss. I saw some photos of you on another thread. You looked great when you started! but it's always nice to weigh what you want to weigh.

Hmm . . . you know? Keeping busy for 20 minutes after a snack after might be one of the tricks that could help. I have a snack. Then, I want another ;D I've just had my 100 calorie popcorn and a Carl's Jr. chocolate chip cookie sure sounds good I should go back to putting extra Slim Fasts in the car. As horrible as they are nutritionally and I can't believe I'm drinking them, better one of them than the cookie on the way home. Thanks Coyote. I was in such good shape when I met my husband that I feel guilty for packing on almost 30 pounds. Plus, I was having arch problems. Well, on the good side these hunger pangs saved me a bunch of money I'd have to have spent on new TS's. Ommm . . .hunger pangs are good Ommmmm hunger pangs are good. However, I was secretly hoping my tall boots wouldn't fit. I really would like a pair that zipped .

Luci,
Try a cup of tea. I have a wicked sweet tooth and it seems to be negated after a meal by having a cup of tea. 10 am is my witching hour. I'm starving right NOW! Stomach is growling. My head hurts. I think I'll go have a cup of tea and an orange.

There was a tidbit of information I ran across recently. It said that the smell of vanilla - like vanilla candles of just having vanilla smell in some other form - decreases your hunger. The article was something about helping limit what kids eat. I don't know if it's true but thought it a curious tidbit of information.
Feet problems are a real bother. Hopefully, you can find good shoes or inserts that eliminate your arch problems.

Too funny Alison, that's what I do too, a cup of tea (yunnan - no sugar!) and an orange! But for me the witching hour is at 4 or 5 or 6 pm...lol so today I went to the gym instead for a Pilates-Yoga class. It worked! Not hungry. Some days, when I am circling in the house thinking of eating something, I do house chores. Laundry, cleaning...anything to keep my mind off the food!
