I just finished reading this and wondered if anyone else has read it? Interesting, but kind of a hard read.

I hadn't even heard of it before. What is it about Heather?

Is that the book they made a movie out of? About the young guy who decides his (very comfy) life sucks and leaves to hitchhike his way to Alaska, or something like that?

Yeah, that's it Niaru. It's an interesting read, but has a lot of Tolstoy, Thoreau, etc. philosophy and quotes. It also compares the main character to other "wilderness men" of the past and the thinking behind this type of life/mindset.

Yah, I read it and also the other book Into Thin Air by the author. Very similar books, actually. Very dramatic, with the climax of the story happening at the beginning, then the rest of the book giving the backstory.

I read it several years ago and really liked it. It was difficult but I think the events were the difficult part. You know...I was thinking just the other day that the author rights those "Into" book titles but not a lot of "Out of" book titles...lol.
