Another wow. I'm only about 100 or so pages in - and the damned thing fell in the bath this morning, so is a bit soggy ..
It's by a Nigerian girl, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (I'm reading it off.) Set in the 60's. Much of it from the point of view of a village lad working as a houseboy for a university lecturer, member of a growing community of black intelligentsia.
Having grown up just a few hundred miles further south, I suspect that the civil war is about to break. I don't yet know how far into the future/present it will reach, but I expect we'll live through Biafra..
She is a stunning writer and I suspect that the 'twin sister' lead females are autobiographical. Anyone want to look for it and try it?

Well, I could send it to you, GM, when I'm done? It did get a bit soggy in the bath, but if you're not too fussy....?
