Anyone else?- Who has read "Eats Shoots and Leaves"? It is one of the most hilarious, brilliant books I have read in a long time! It's a no-nonsense approach to punctuation, (I know, how dull)but written in an absolutely delightful way. I truly believe it should be manditory reading for HS seniors and college freshmen.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is my favorite grammar book.....LOL
I usually start out with that at the beginning of the year and I teach SCIENCE! Hehehehe
I love it and I like the way it makes you pay attention to detail (my punctuation is horrid) regardless of whether the detail is grammar or not.

When I was reading it, I would start giggling uncontrolably. Roger would ask what was so funny. It was hard to explain just how funny commas could be! He's such an engineer...

If anyone has a spare copy, I'd love to read it. I've always seen it on the book shelves at the store, but I've always had more than enough to read at home. Good to know it's funny. If it's good enough for my classroom, I'll purchase it for the kids.

eats shoots and leaves is excellent. and I love Strunk & White too - not as entertianing but "The Elements of Style" is a must for writers and is populated with just the loveliest examples of absolute mastery of the craft.
