I've read everything Francis wrote. Good good stuff! Brian, which was your favorite? I think I liked Hot Money the best, though Bolt and its sequel (can't remember that title) were very good too. And the one with the Derby (Dahrby) prospect Archangel and the snooty young jockey and the evil, consumed with syphilis and thus nuts father - that was a good one!
Francis knows how to create a villian, that's for sure.

I've read many of the Francis books, some more than once. It's all a blur! I do like his formula, but please don't quiz me on the details.

I LOVE Dick Francis! My favorite is "For Kicks" - must have been one of his early ones (mid-60s).
Wonderful, couldn't put it down, but also extremely horrific - more so than his other ones IMO.
JA - was the one with Archangel "Hot Money"? I just read it, it was great!

nope! it was bugging me so I googled. "Bonecrack" is the one w/ Archangel.
"Hot Money" is the one with the super dysfunctional family - Malcolm the old rich guy with all the ex wives?

My mother in law would give them to me when I was laid up after getting crunched up by a horse when I was training.I think she was trying to tell me something .
