It's the Altzheimer's. And not too premature, at that. I just read this, and partway through (note PART way through) - I thought, 'Oh, that's familiar'.
Sigh. Yes. I'd read it before - and forgotten all about it. Except the bit where they have the stoning to death of the adulterous couple at half-time in the football match... (Sorry if this is a spoiler.)
HOW could you ever forget a book like that? But I did. Sigh. I seem to be heavily into Afghanistan at the moment, having just read 'The Bookseller of Kabul', too.
I would send 'Kite Runner' on - but someone just nabbed it from me.
Wonderful book. You can't help thinking it's autobiographical in many ways.

It is a good book...I really enjoyed it, although I did find it a bit disturbing. I agree, it does seem sort of autobiographical.

That book was amazing and yes, seemingly autobiographical.

I have a copy if anyone wants it though I should try it again. It wasn't the storyline that turned me off...it was something about the writing and I can't even pinpoint it.
I know. I should try it again......
