That's 'To Be Read'. I have a whole pile at work. I keep meaning to start on the Rita Mae Brown hunting books, and I have a gothic mystery called 'Kept', and someone keeps telling me to read Diana Gabaldon's books? Then of course Harry Potter will be here shortly. What have you all got lined up that we haven't already heard about?

Not including the ones I've ordered that haven't arrived my stack has:
Suite Francaise (Irene Nemirosvsky) Snowflower and the Secret Fan (Lisa See) The Accidental Buddhist (Dinty W. Moore.....rough name, huh?) Dalva (Jim Harrison) True North (Jim Harrison) The Birthdays (Heide Pitlor) An Adirondack Passage (Christine Jerome) Naked (David Sedaris....short stories) Take Big Bites (Linda Ellerbee)
What a mish mosh. Thanks for asking though. I've been getting cranky that my "new" books aren't here yet and have ignored the ones staring at me!

The Omnivore's Dilemma, Michael Pollan (This topic interests me these days.) A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini (Some like it less than his first, but I'll give it a try.) The Yiddish Policeman's Union, Michael Chabon (How can I resist the title?) Collected Poems, Richard Wilbur ("Love Calls Us to the Things of this World" is my current favorite poem. Must read more.)

ClaireLV, the Diana Gabaldon series is a "no can put down" read. I only happened onto the last of the serial. I think there are three to the whole "get go". Totally fascinating writting. If you'd like I'll send you the one I have. PM me if you want the book.
I'm starting "The Tenth Circle". Then I have the Harry Potter Collection to finish and "The Thirteenth Tale". I'm anxious to get back to reading Harry Potter.

This is an incredible list of titles! Filly.....wanna do Snowflower somewhat simultaneously? I started it a while back but only got a couple of chapters in because of the year-end at school. Ann....I'm going to have to look up the last two titles/authors you mentioned. At this rate my TBR pile could become walls for an addition to the house

Sure, Lynne. Give me a few days to finish Moloka'i and then I'll read that book next! ;D ps. Moloka'i is a book based on fact about leapar colonies on Hawaii and a young girl who gets the disease, her life, etc. Excellent, almost as good as Elephants!

I have the problem that I have a pile of books I have bought, or were sent, just waiting to be read. And what do I do? I go to the library and get more, and even request more! This book board is killing me!!

I have no pile. I would really really like to have a pile. Books are EXTREMELY expensive here, so I rarely buy them anymore unless at a garage sale or something. My tiny local English library has a very limited selection too. I am going to try our other library again though - it is bilingual and when it first opened it had not much in English. Hopefully they have expanded it since then.

Elizabeth, PM me with your address, and I'll make up a diverse box of books for you. It would be great to clean out my boxes of books!
