Again, I'd urge Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' series. www.hisdarkmaterials.com/I would send them on - but all mine went in the fire .. Together with all my Terry Pratchetts, Harry Potters, Kenneth Grahame - oh, weep, wail, gnash teeth!

I have a Tim Powers books to loan, if anyone wants - it's not as great as mostof his others, but it's hard to put down. He is a GREAT writer!!!
It's called "Dinner at Deviant's Palace."
Bara, if you liked Philip Pullman's stuff you'd surely like Tim Powers. His stuff is fantasy/supernatural with classic good/evil struggles, with a bunch of historical figures entwined (Einstein to Kim Philby to Houdini to Shelley). Every time I read one I'm compelled to go read about the history he includes.

Was pleasantly surprised by the movie "Stardust" which is based on a book I really like by the same name by Neil Gaiman. Very fun, fairly light summer read.

Good to know WNT, I saw reviews for the movie and it made me want to read the book. Once I've seen a movie, I can't get myself to read the book it was based on, but I love watching movies after I've read the book.

Just read the Dark Elf Triology series by RA Salvatore! Excellent read and now I just started the Icewind Dale trilogy by him! Drizzt is an awesome character and I love the spin!
