I saw the gist of the mystery early on, but was curious enough to see how the author wove the specifics together. I don't usually try to solve mysteries as I read them--I'm in it for the escapism! This one took me far enough from the daily shuffle that I enjoyed going along for the ride. I think the sick cruelty in the family was the most off-putting bit for me. I'd have liked a cozier tale, but I was willing to read this one to the end.

I rank it right there in my bottom 20. I don't like having to guess at things. Maybe I'm not smart enough to begin with, but I felt insulted at the end of this book.

Really? Wow. I liked the setting in the house/library. I think the remoteness and eery edge drew me in a bit.

Have you ever read "The Third Twin" its by Iris Johanson (I think) weird book about cloning and nature vs. nurture.
I have the 13th Tale upstairs in my TBR pile. But had to catch up on my HP review first. ;D

Oops - sorry, hope we didn't spoil it for you.
Cloning. Now there's a weird one. Do we have any geneticists? How can someone be exactly you - yet not you?

I just finished it. Well, not my favorite book by far, but I did want to keep reading.
