I'll be rooting for Hard Spun again. Should be a good rematch between the two. Your boy's gonna have to get on his toes a bit quicker in the shorter Preakness with it's tighter turns. If he gets the Preakness, I really think he could get the Crown.

I'm going to narrow down my choices as the field has narrowed significantly. I'm taking Street Sense. Great Hunter's not running in it or I'd pick the two of them nick

bluebluesea i totally agree... i really would like to see S.S win tho... just because it has been SO long since we have had a triple crown winner!! is it that they are all great or that they are all average and no one stands out? hmmm.... anyways... will be waiting till saturday with bated breath!!!

I've been rooting for that Crown as well, and if SS gets this leg, I'll route for him in the Belmont. Might have to even do another crazy 4 hour drive to get up there to see it go off like I did in 2004. Of course, in 2004 Smarty was my pick way back in early January.
I've read some articles about the gap. Some theorize it's do to the softer conditioning methods used on the horses; others say it's because of the way they are rushed to market as one and two year olds. I think it's likely to be some of both plus the fact that it is such a difficult feat to attain.

SS is bred to run all day long, the KD was nothing for him. I am going to box SS and HS for this race too!

I watched Street Sense's Tuesday workout on TVG yesterday. I must say he looks fantastic! He galloped out 6f in 1:12 and change - faster than a lot of races are run. He made it look super easy! I would love to see a TC this year.
