First time starter Aristosa Way ran at Santa Anita Park in the 9th race April 1, 07. The 4yo filly by Dominated Debut finishing 8th collapsed from a heart attached and died on the track while pulling up from the race. The jockey said she felt great running and while pulling up she started to feel woozy then went down. No medications, not even lasix were used and she had no history of problems with her heart!

This was a very sad day for us, for she was OUR filly. So young, so hopeful. She is now laid to rest.

kaidensmom: Any stories or experience with a horse with strangles that is SOB? Gelding is currently hospitalized. On Penicillin and wasn't getting better so the vet just started horse on IV doses of DMSO. The abcesses are pharyngeal. Mar 13, 2017 22:41:03 GMT -5
