I just heard word that a trainer from MNR passed away two days ago. John Semer was a super, super nice guy and a great trainer. I heard two different stories about what happened but it doesn't really matter. He's gone. My condolences to his family. What a shame.

Thanks Jen, for letting us know. I've heard of him, and from what I heard, he seemed like a wonderful person. I'll be praying for his family.

Trainer Scotty Schulhofer dies  Hall of Fame trainer Flint "Scotty" Schulhofer passed away on Thursday night at age 80 after a bout with cancer. Schulhofer is probably best remembered as the trainer of 1999 Belmont and Travers Stakes winner and 2000 champion older horse Eclipse winner Lemondrop Kid, one of six champions and numerous Grade 1 winners he trained. |
