I have fallen in absolute LOFF with a 3 y/o at Great Lakes Downs. Every time I'm there as a CANTER volunteer, we have to go to his stall so I can scratch on his withers. He just LOVES that! He's only had one race so far, and he got bumped at the start and injured his stifle a bit. He's finally entered to run again on Mon, so of course I will have to go watch. He's a HUGE boy - I think he's about 17hh already

Aargh! Poor boy "faded", as put by the chart. The track was quite muddy. He was 5-6 wide into the first turn. He came up to 3rd by the start of the final turn (6 furlong race on a 5/8 mile track). Midway through the turn, he started dropping. Finished 7th of 8 He hadn't run in 2 months, so he may not be quite so fit as the other horses. He looked to be sliding around in the mud, too. Of course, he may end up for sale before long if he doesn't start racing better!
