We ran "A Good Day to Run" tonight. He won by 8 lengths and made it look easy while doing it. I thought the race looked quite a bit tougher than it actually played out. Didn't expect such a big win.
Unfortunately someone claimed him from us. Pretty sad to see him go. He's a sweetheart. The good news is that the trainer who has him is very good and treats his horses well. I've looked at a lot of his horses when he had them for sale and they always look fantastic. He's a nice guy too. So that helps a little. Still kind of stinks though. So, if you don't mind too much, keep an eye on the boy in your virtual stable and keep routing for him to do well.

Aw jen. that was the first e-mail I got this morning. I was thrilled when I saw him first, but damn, then to see he was claimed was so sad. I glad he went to someone good.

I saw that and was sad that he now belongs to someone else. I follow horses after someone claims them from you and they don't seem to do as well. I hope Good Day will be okay. Are you going to claim another one?

Yes, we will be looking for another horse. We have two open stalls now (Clear Title found a new home) and need to fill one of them. The other one will be occupied by a horse we used to have that is coming back to us. If you'd like to enter him in your VS, his name is Computer Gate. He should be coming any day now....

But you still have Rootbeer right? I really like that horse from the pics you've posted. Congrats on the win, sorry he was claimed! Man, what a rollercoaster!

No, Rootbeer was claimed from us about two months ago.
Computer Gate is here! He got here from MD last night. His barn name is "Doc." Might be a month or so before he runs though. He's a bit on the skinny side and we have to get him more fit before running him.

A horse can only be claimed if you enter him into a claiming race correct?

Yes you are correct EEMC. They can only be claimed if they are in a claiming race. Although they do have optional claiming allowance races.............just to make you more confused. LOL DRF has a wonderful glossary on their site. Heres a link. www.drf.com/help/help_glossary.html That sucks about the claim Jen. At least you know he is in good hands. |
