Hassle is running in a BIG allowance race tomorrow night. It's race number 9 and he's in post number 5 (my lucky number!). The number 4 horse is a heck of a runner. We've been waiting to be able to face him for quite a while. If anyone can watch, cheer as loud as you can for Hassle please!

I'm so sad I don't get the racing channel...unless I want the premium package for $100 a month. I won't be watching but I'll be there in spirit. SAFE TRIP, Hassle!

You can watch it on your computer though! Go to www.mtrgaming.comclick on racing, then click on live racing. then....there will be a box that pops up and you eiither chose "dial-up" or "broadband" then it will show on the screen exactly what they show at the track, including the handicapper's comments.

COOL! Thanks jenarby, I'll try to catch it, then. Any idea what time the ninth race will go off?

How exciting! The kids are out of school so I haven't been getting up at 5:30 a.m. so hopefully I won't fall asleep before the race tonight. Youbet.com has him at 15/1 so I think I will play it safe and bet him to Show But you have DeShawn aboard I see, so he might surprise the handicappers. I know he'll run a good race in any case. Sending jingles that he runs fast and safe! Here is the cutie pie:

Well that was kind of a weird race. Three horses scratched. Hassle looked so strong there for quite a while and then he just sort of stopped and dropped back. Is he okay? I just checked to see how much I won because I did bet him to show and it says I got a refund. Now, I'm really worried

When you only have four horses in a race you can't bet to show. No tri-fectas either. The horse that won is incredible. He's only 4 this year and has made close to 500k. Hassle did keep up with him for the first 1/4. He just got tired. It was his first race of the year. You never know.....but we were excited to see him keep up with him at the start. So if we had him fit enough you never know what could have happened. The neat thig with this race was that we could have let him trot around the track and still made $2300. Since we knew we weren't going to keep up with the two front runners, we let him lope in and save third place. He's pretty darned tired though.

After I thought about it for a while I figured that is what it would be. But heck, there were 7 horses in the race when I placed my bet and it isn't my fault or Hassle's that the others scratched. Oh well - at least I didn't lose any money.
Give Hassle some hugs from his Aunt Julia in VA. I hope he has a good rest.

That was fun, I watched online last night. Thanks again for the link, jenarby. He looked really good early on, just looked like he didn't have quite enough gas to keep it going. He'll do better next time!
