My daughter watched all the horses in the Derby and announced that Giacomo would win it. I told her "Honey, he's 50/1". She said "I don't care, he's the best horse". I put $5 on him to win! She told me to bet $20 and I wish I had listened to her He is a beautiful looking gray and did you see, the jockey wasn't even hitting on him. He just asked him to run and run he did. Wow

I saw that, WHAT a race . I could not get over Spanish Chestnut, what a sprinter, do you realize how far he held out sprinting? It was just plain a good race.

Wow, what an upset for Bellamy Road (gorgeous horse tho).
I was really, really hoping Afleet Alex would win, it almost looked like he would, for a moment. Cute horse, great cause...Oh well. A 3rd place in the KD isn't too shabby! I hope he'll run in the Preakness.

Wow I can relate! My husband did pick him as a longshot, but only put $2.00 on him to win.. Well, it paid for the day out at the track. very interesting upset.

LOL - it got a bit crazy at the end with my daughter jumping up and down and hugging me and shouting "Why didn't you bet more!!!". I NEVER win in the derby so next year I am going to wait until Audrey has checked them all out and announced her pick.

:smirky: Smart Woman, you go girl :smirky:
I had to call Megan and tell them the order of the win. She and Bob are 'horse' shopping for a client. Bob was rooting for Bellamy Road.
