You know I missed it, but I did have a bet on her. She won, but the odds were so bad that I had to bet $40 to win $48 Here is what Equibase said about her: She is amazing - such a strong filly.

Posted: 4/11/2005 8:23:00 PM ET Wygods remove Sweet Catomine from Canani’s care Owners Martin and Pam Wygod removed five horses, including Sweet Catomine, from trainer Julio Canani’s barn on Monday, two days after the 2004 champion two-year-old filly finished fifth as the even-money favorite against males in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) on April 9 at Santa Anita Park. Martin Wygod declined to comment on the decision, which he said had nothing to do with the California Horse Racing Board’s investigation into the prerace activities and condition of Sweet Catomine. Wygod revealed after the Santa Anita Derby that Sweet Catomine bled on April 3 in her final workout before the race and ovulated for the first time on April 6.
Wygod said Sweet Catomine would be moved to trainer John Shirreffs’s barn on Monday afternoon.
"Sweet Catomine might very likely go back East," Wygod said. "We’ll evaluate it over the next few weeks."
The Wygods currently have horses in training with Racing Hall of Famer Bill Mott on the East Coast.
Canani said Wygod did not give him a reason for ending their relationship. "It’s just part of the game," Canani said.
Canani said he does not regret starting Sweet Catomine in the Santa Anita Derby, which was her first loss since a second-place finish in her career debut.
"I’m a horseman, and I love my horses. I would never run a horse if I thought they were not right," Canani said. "I love horses too much to do that. I hope this filly can continue winning because she is a champion. She’s the best three-year-old filly that I’ve trained. She was the best two-year-old filly last year. I wish Mr. Wygod good luck with all the horses. He put a lot of money in the game, and this is just part of the business."
Sweet Catomine won five consecutive stakes prior to the Santa Anita Derby, including the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1), Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), and Santa Anita Oaks (G1). She has five wins in seven career starts and earnings of $1,059,600.
The CHRB filed complaints on Monday against Wygod and driver Dean Kerkhoff after determining the filly was falsely identified to a stable gate guard as a pony when she left Santa Anita at 3 a.m. PDT on April 4 for medical treatment at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Los Olivos, California, for her internal bleeding.
Administrative hearings are scheduled for April 23.
The complaint also alleges that Wygod violated a CHRB rule on conduct detrimental to racing with comments he made before and after Saturday’s Santa Anita Derby concerning the condition of Sweet Catomine.—Jeff Lowe

I find this quite interesting, since I read Sunday that Sweet Catomine would not be racing in the KY Derby or Oaks....
I really like this filly. Hope she continues to run well.

The yahoo horse racing group is buzzing about this. I hope the filly's owners make sure she is in good hands and take care of her properly. Champions like her don't come along every day and I don't know why they ran her in the Santa Anita if she was not well and in heat. I hope they give her a good rest and she comes back just as strongly. They should send her to Jen and her BF She probably would win the Derby easily if she got that kind of care and training ;D

This all sounds very fishy to me. It looks as though she was not handled very well and now she is a broodmare at only 3 years old.
