Retirement Ceremony For Rambaran

Rambaran will make his way to the winner’s circle for the final time on Saturday, January 29 at Woodbine as WEG will pay tribute to the millionaire with a special retirement ceremony.
Prior to being decorated in the winner’s circle the 11-year-old son of Western Hanover – Idylwood Bonnie will escort the field to the track for Woodbine’s sixth race post parade.
The rugged ridgling faced the gate 174 times throughout his career compiling a 38-35-23 record and potting earnings of $1,163,139 for the partnership of the Idylwood Stables and Watkins Equine.
Rambaran earned a 2-year-old speed badge of 1:55.3 before lowering that mark to 1:52.4 during his sophomore campaign.
As a 4-year-old the Pete Johnston trainee reduced his career mark to 1:52.2 before returning as a 5-year-old and lowering that record to 1:50.2.
Rambaran has spent the last number of seasons doing double duty as a popular stallion at Mac Lilley Farms, where he’ll continue to ply his trade.
Among his credits as a stallion are: Flashy Baron (1:50.3 - $178,593) Borderlinegorgious (1:55.2 - $138,130) XLB Joker (1:55.3 - $119,568)
Rambaran’s Scrapbook: - 5 consecutive $100,000+ seasons - earned a cheque in 83% of his starts - multiple stakes winner at 3 - multiple Open Class and Free For All winner
