I see that Hassledontheborder is running in the 8th tonight. It is probably going to be a cold nasty night so I hope it all goes well. Jen, if you go out there tonight, don't forget to bundle up!

Yep, supposed to be quite chilly tonight. I'm just hoping that it doesn't snow or they may cancel. There is a big stake race tonight which is the 9th race. So they won't cancel unless it's unbearable. We have our workcut out for us! I LOVE this horse, I just hope he comes back safe.
Missgrey, did you get my email? I wasn't sure if you knew that Hassle was running or not so I sent you one.

A bit of a heartbreaker. They were all talking about Cargi being the favorite and the one to beat and Hassle did beat him all the way. It looked to me though that the two of them dueled for so long that Hassle just didn't have enough left for that late challenge from the long shots. But he still got third and there must have been only a nose between first, second and third. He ran one heck of a race and you should be very proud of him. I hope he was okay afterwards. I had bet him to win so didn't add to my stash on that race but I actually managed to pick the Exacta in the second and third races so I won about $90 on those  |

Hassle and Cargi pushed each other. DeShawn said that Oswald (Cargi's rider) kept him squished on the rail. If Cargi had not gone head and head with Hassle, Hassle could have set his own pace instead of dueling like that. I can't believe a 40 to 1 shot beat us! Worst of all was that the winner was a non winner of two in a lifetime! This was a wide open race. How frustrating! Mr. Mag was the other horse that we were worried about. I think he ran 4th or 5th. Willy is running tomorrow in the last race if anyone is a night owl and wants to watch. Thanks for cheering us on! I was screaming my head off as our race went on. I tend to get loud when Hassle or Toby run. |
