this time, it hits much closer to home. Bill Jr was married to my cousin for many years, and on different ocassions, I had met Bill Sr.
Bill Companion Sr. Passes

William “Bill” Companion Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21.
Companion Sr., 72, was a harness driver for most of his life beginning in the 1960’s. The Charlottetown, P.E.I. resident won the 1974 Maritime Driving Championship, and fondly remembered his best horse Natasha, an invitational pacer in the 1970’s.
A visitation will take place today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the East Prince Funeral Home in Summerside, P.E.I. Comrades of George R. Pearkes VC Branch no. 5 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at 6:45 p.m. tonight at East Prince Funeral Home.
Memorial donations in Bill’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
