Balanced Image PassesOctober 14, 2004 It is with great sadness that Glengate Farms announced the passing of the great trotting sire Balanced Image today. Inducted into the Canadian Racing Hall of Fame in the year 2000, Balanced Image was acknowledged for his tremendous impact on standardbred racing in North America. “Even though we knew this day was eventually going to come, it’s still very difficult," said Glengate Farm Manager Doug Nash. “His passing is like losing a very close member of my family. There will only ever be one Balanced Image.” In his stud career, spanning more than 20 years, Balanced Image produced numerous race champions and his offspring have earned more than $90 million. Even though Image retired from active stud duty in 2003, he has continued to occupy his centre court stall at Glengate’s stud bard, taking great interest in the breeding activities during this past season at the farm. Balanced Image was buried this morning next to his paddock at Glengate Farms. From Standardbred Canada Insider News
