 My super star did it again!
Such a proud momma here! I thought coming around the turn he was DONE (DeShawn thought so too). I am utterly shocked that he finished like he did!
The funny this is this: When we ran him for 7500, he ran agains a horse named Astral Plane who was dropped from allowance ranks. He's trainer by J. Michael Baird. We beat that horse by a 1/2 length closing on him. The horse is beat tonight was trained by the same guy anmd we closed on him to win by 3/4!! He came up to my BF's dad and said, "Louie, you're killin' me here!" Too funny!
Duno if it happened in the gate (think possibly) but he got a nasty cut on his left hind just above the coronet band. Almost bad enough for stitches. Yuck!

Tobeeeee! I was almost afraid to look and see how he did! I would just loff it if he got the most horrible reputation for being untrainable with anyone other than you, and no-one would ever DARE claim him. Dang, Jen, maybe you can retire him from racing and make a cross-country horse out of him. He might like that. And then get the fishing lure people to sponsor you two.

I was watching the Astros last night (we are big fans) and completely forgot about Toby's race - darn it! It sounds as though he was wonderful though. He is probably now getting tons of tlc for his poor cut leg while revelling in being a winner again and loving every minute. I am SO glad he didn't get claimed. We are going to have to make a T-Shirt for Jenarby that says "Don't even THINK of claiming my horse!" or "He only wins for me!".
