Thats pretty cool. :daisy: :flower: So now that he's qualified, what does that mean? I know little to nothing about standardbred racing.

Congrats!
Details, please. How does a harness horse "qualify" and when will his first race be?

Qualifying races are races with no purse money. Horses must perform in a given time which is set by the board of judges who set the time by track speed rating (this time requirement is always a few seconds slower than the rating). The base time is modified by age of horse, gait, track conditions, temperature, wind speed, wind chill, rain, snow - this means a 2yo trotter qualifying on our track with a rating of 2:10 would only have to race around 2:24, and a 2yo pacer 3 seconds slower; aged horses have to get around the track in 2:18. All horses must qualify after more than 30 days between starts. They also must qualify if they have two lines in a row showing a break, and if they break the next start after a qualifying race. Horses that do not perform to standards, or are badly distanced in two races in a row must qualify. Horses that are bad off the gate may have to qualify twice and show two clean lines in a qualifying race. Other reasons for qualifying are vet's list (long term), starters list, horses that cause accidents, or the horse has already qualified once, but the trainer feels he needs another start for no money as a tightner rather than having a short horse get beat badly.
Now as to Rambo, he had to qualify for being off the track for a looooooooong time, and he will race this weekend......but I don't know what day.

That's pretty cool! Kinda like our published works, working in front of the vet, etc. Very cool. Well good luck to Rambo (and you!)
