Alright, I've heard lots of heresay about dosage indexes and also read about them on the authoritative web site at www.chef-de-race.com/dosage/review.htmBut I still am feeling confused. How much significance do trainers and prospective owners really pay to dosage index for (a) racing prospects or (b) breeding stock? I've always head that no one wins the Derby over 4.0, but that obviously isn't true either. Can anyone clarify more for me just how significant DI is in making decisions? Do breeders make breeding decisions based on hypothetical foal DI's and CD's? Another source I found is www.thoroughbredchampions.com/dosage/breeding.htmA very famous sire with a DI greater than 4.0 is Danzig. www.pedigreepost.com/archives/DanzigLesBrinsfield.html
