Are those times kinda slow? I generally see races that finish a bit under 2 min. Are these horses that you work with?

No, it is a combination of the fact we had NO time to train because of the rotten weather (60 days of rain) and the track was very loose, so they let them qualify in 2:20 and no one wanted to go more and damage a horse. Horses like Crimson And Gold, Kalahari Rain, Boomerraincatcher, Executives Dream, Fiddles Music, and more that aren't here will be going around 2 minutes or less in a bit....but not until that track surface tightens up. Average race here, for the cheap horses is around 2:04, however, if the horse can't grip that track, 2:04 changes rapidly to much slower.
I am actually very interested in seeing what Kalahari Rain CAN go on a better surface if he can go in 2:04 on that mess.....I think he got away on his driver.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought maybe a poor track might have been part of the reason. Hopefully your weather will improve.

Should have added......there are no purses for qualifying races either, so no one really wants to take a race out of a horse for no dough.
