Hi all.
As I sit here and watch TVG, the post parade for Balmoral with their pacers came on. Sometimes TVG posts their racing records. Tonite I saw one trotter with 153 starts!!! He's done well though.. he's got about 75 3rd place and up wins.
I saw another trotter with 125 starts. Wow.. I didn't know harness racers race so much! That amazes me..

40 starts a year isn't at all unusual for most Standardbreds. Most horses get in once a week, and there are some that race 52 weeks out of the year. I raced one mare and averaged 50 starts a year on her for 3 years....she was one tough girl and did not take well to time off. A couple of shedrows over was another old gelding and he raced 50+ starts a year from 3 to 14, and he would not handle time off at all.

Just remember this coming Winter when you are buried in snow, you could move down here and run at Balmoral. :winkinggirl: OK, we get snow too, but no where near what you get. :sun:
