I just bought a used Kloster Schonthal saddle "HUSAR" on eBay. Looks like it has good wither clearance, and I got it kinda cheap, though that may more be due to the billets being well used, then the actual value of the saddle. Which is why I was wondering if anyone had heard of these? Figured I'd ask mostly, since it's coming from Germany and I have a while to wait for it to get here. :coffee:

I don't know much about German saddles, but just wait and see what it turns out to be! Hey ZR, don't you buy stuff from Equus Now from time to time on Ebay? They just opened a "warehouse" store here in Columbus...visited there on Sunday and was EXTRA pleased to see a wide variety of pony equipment, saddles and children's apparel. FINALLY! Anyhow, they had SUCH a nice selection of beautiful saddles, and they seem to specialize in Wintecs so I got to sit and look at the ones I like the best - the AP2000 and the ProDressage. They even had a couple used ones on consignment, and one was a ProDressage in my size for only $295 cause it was "dirty." Might look into that cause cleaning the synthetic suede on those is not too hard.....

Yup, I buy from Equus Now from time to time. That's who I got my Wintec from. Aren't they having a big sale at there place real soon? I'd spend too much on gas to make it worth my while, but you should go then. Will have to check their site. For what I'm paying for this saddle I'm not too worried, just curious. It looks really nice, though now I'll have to get a brown bridle if it works.

I believe the HUSAR is a Courbette saddle isn't it? Swiss made? Maybe it's some sort of signature series or something?
OK, so I went to doublecheck and make sure I was correct and the only HUSAR I can find is the Courbette one. Like the Stubbens, it comes in the dressage tendency and the jumping tendency. You can also get it with a suede seat. I loff the HUSAR touring model. My trainer has one.

Christi is just plain evil to ruin our favorite word... "L-O-F-F!" We use it every post, and Johnnie invented it. oh well, Revert to saying LOVE until this phase passes.

Oooo, that looks comfy. This is the one I bought, might not fit cause Zen does have some monster withers, but it looks like it has good wither clearance without being too narrow. Can't really lose at this price. Biggest problem now is waiting 2 to 4 weeks for it to be shipped from Germany. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2712081171&category=3170

Yep SMAY, that is the dressage version of the one I was talking about. Zen, the one you posted is the exact one that my trainer has. I L-O-F-F that saddle, very comfy. You might be surprised about it fitting Zen. Whenever we are going to try a TB, we usually take this saddle because it seems to fit them very well. I think it even fit Macaroni who had HUGE withers. on the catheter saddle! I wish I could take credit for inventing L-O-F-F, but I actually picked it up on another board where a German horse named Willem "posts". You guys should really read some of Willem's posts. Most memorable is when he says that his cajones are not next to his spank monkey anymore, but they are now in his character .

Cool! and What a bargain... I am trying to hold out for a passier, they have had some cheap ones, but still a little out of my price range. Course I should sell my Stubben first since it doesn't fit any of my horses now... *sigh*.

I don't get William's posts. I might be dumb, but I just don't get them, but I do l-o-f-f writing and saying l-o-f-f. That I get ;D

Michelle, your intelligence is probably too high to get Willem . I literally laugh so hard sometimes that I have tears rolling down my face. In the past few months his posts have not been up to par, but I l-o-f-f his musical freestyle tips, and his foxhunting posts. Of course I still think I'm 12 years old, and my whole mentality is now at the level, so....

We can only hope it fits. Claire, if you wait and watch eBay long enough you can luck into a bargain, it's just the waiting part that can kill you. But they do happen. One thing I've learned about eBay, is if there is one, there will be another. Plus I'm just too poor to get carried away about anything, so I can only bid on the bargains anyway. If you let me know what you're looking for, size, tree style, I can help you look. I'm laid off right now, so have plenty of time. Sigh. If I didn't have to be here for my lame Zen, I'd fill in that job where you're at until I have to start delivering again.

Johnnie, bless you, only you and my Mom think I'm smart ;D
I just started reading his posts, I used to just skip them, but everyone went on and on about how funny they were, so I went back and started. Maybe I should go further back! I guess I just don't get it.
One day the light bulb will go off in my head and I'll have Pepsi coming out my nose, and I'll think, "Wow, Johnnie was so right! Hehehehe!" ;D ;D ;D
