Anybody going? It's in two weeks. The infamous John Lyons will be there. Betsy Steiner for a dressage clinic. Stallions, shopping, etc.
If anyone from the STL area wants to go, perhaps we could ride together. With gas prices so high, I am trying to eliminate unnecessary miles.

I would be sort of interested in going - Saturday might be a possibility for me (especially if I don't have to drive ;D ). I have a few days off coming up (as soon as the boss and landlord and neighbor all get back from Florida - I'm babysitting every horse, donkey, dog, cat, fish and bird in the area!!). But I don't know when the days will be for sure yet - and if I do get them, depends on what I have going on at the time. I haven't had one full day off (much less three) in several years - I'd probably do well to REST the majority of the time!
So, a definite maybe kinda sorta could be. ;D

..it's such a nice break to go to a horse fair in mid-winter when all else is at a standstill....except the chores! Oh, and John Lyons is probably the LEAST "IM-famous" of the group I think. He's pretty normal in his training methods, and I find his sessions to be relaxing and low key - once I fell asleep in his session at Equine Affaire! hahaha He always seems so logical and calm, whereas Clinton Anderson is always CRACKING his whips, Pony Boy is always shaking his a$$... and Parelli is doing a circus. But then again, I like Lynne Palm, and everyone else says shes a witch! So what do I know. But I sure do love going to horse fairs. You guys should go.

Keely, have the same problem, am pet sitting so my Mother and Stepfather can go to the fair.  Am kinda thinking of running down Sunday maybe. Though with gas prices where they are, maybe not.  After all, I'm gonna need the money for the Rolex in April. ;D Anyone who goes, ya gotta see Santiago, the coolest Andalusion stallion I have ever seen. He's a big WOW. |

Well, I'd drive if there would be more people going besides me (probably wouldn't drive around 4 hours one way by myself just to look). I have an Excursion 4x4 (snow wouldn't be a problem) so it holds 8 full-size people easily (can get more people in if they don't mind sitting in the back, lol) & it gets a little over 16 miles a gallon so I'd pay for the gas myself.
The Saturday would be the only day I could go since I'd leave ultra early Saturday morning & get home probably Sunday morning. Is it the 8th of March?

Cat B & ChrisnStar could come in from Kansas & meet me also. Maybe anyone east of Keely could meet at her place & then we could go from there. If she can't go (hopefully she can), we'd just have to pick a meeting point.

Katmease - I WISH I could go to the IL Horse Fair! Illinois is my former stomping grounds (GO REDBIRDS!!), but I'm afraid I can't do it this year. I've got a few horse-related overnighters coming up and the family can barely keep it together when I'm gone (so I think). But, wouldn't it be great if ya got paid for going to those things - to clap and ooh and aah like you're really impressed?? A professional clinic groupie. Yeah, that's what I wanna be when I grow up!! (especially for Clinty - whips and all!!)
Oh, and I think ChrisnStar is (are?? ;D) going to the Wichita Equifest this weekend.
