This has not been a good week! The computer crashed after my server was trying to help me find out why I was not getting any mail. It's still not completly fixed, needs more work done. Last Saturday I had bought a new stove at Home Depot, very nice GE with self-cleaning oven. I was sooooooo excited. It was delieved last Tuesday and the guy come out on Wednesday to install it. He was very young and I didn't think at the time he knew what he was doing. Early Thursday morning at 2:30 am my dog, who never wakes up at night, woke up and fussed to go out and I , who always makes Brian get up, got up myself to let her out. There was gas leaking from the stove, I got Brian up then to shutoff the gas pipe. We have Probane and the stove takes a conversion kit to install it which the kid had done. I called my "guy" to come and tell what was wrong, this is the guy I always call for applances. He told the conversion kit was on but he had not checked all the valves and so gas was leaking out of it. It could have blown the house and us up, if my dog had not wanted to go out and if I had not gotten up, Brian had a headcold and never would have smelled the gas! We went back to home depot and told them of this, with a reciept from my guy with it all spelled out has to what he had to fix. We got our money back for the installation and they paid my guys bill. No problem!

Brooks, that is too scary! I'm so glad you and your dog saved the day! Brian should reward you both somehow. Hmmmmm... we know from the Friday Fun Five that he won't be buying you cut flowers! The rascal. Maybe jewelry. Or candy. Or TACK!!!!!

You'll have to send that story into Miracle Pets - maybe we'll get to see you on TV!! We don't own a dog, but I wish our cat would have let us know the drain backed up in her "sleeping quarters" the other night! Euuuwwwwww!!

Thank goodness you Guys are okay! That is sooo scary. We also have LP out here in the boonies & not everyone that you buy appliances from understands how differently that works. Give your doggy extra pats from me!

Yikes! That's so scary!! When I was a newspaper reporter, I had to cover a sad story and take pictures of a house that blew up because a gas furnace wasn't installed properly .
