If not, she was at least very choked up! I guess the sight of him running down the hall, barely managing to balance a bouquet of flowers that was almost as big as himself was just too much for her. It was too precious, and she took the bouquet, quickly made off into the kitchen, and stood at the sink for a minute (I think to compose herself). She kept saying that it was “truly a Kodak moment”. After a minute or two, she was able to open the card that Nathan and I had made together, with red, pink, and cream hearts of all sizes glued to the front, and Nathan had colored the inside and the back with marker and crayon (along with the words, “Happy Valentines D-a-y!” on the front, and “Won’t you be mine? Love, Nathan” on the inside). It was so sweet, and it feels so good to make someone’s d-a-y like that. And I had to smile while driving past the neighborhood school this morning, to see all the middle school boys carrying giant teddy bears and roses which were sticking out of their backpacks. Those will be some very happy sweethearts! I had to remember how sweet and innocent those first loves are (at least, they were innocent in my generation). Hope everyone has a very Happy Valentine’s D-a-y! Christi

Awww how totally precious.. I love stuff like that.. My oldest who is 10 made his 'girlfriend' (yes, i have competition for a place in his heart now...also the parents are friends of mine) this heart out of wire and some shiney tinsel attached to a rubber band.. not exactly sure the use of it but he said she really liked it.. I also let him make a card on the computer for her this morning.. It was really sweet I think. even if a tad young for my liking. But she is a good kid and he really enjoys her company

... babysitters or teachers or coaches or whomever GETS the sweet little homemade valentines, so she probably was VERY touched....even though it's the MOMMY that does all the work on those toddler 'tines, huh? For some reason, ever since my oldest -now 15 - was a little bitty, I have been helping my kids make their own Valentines for school or daycare or whatever. It never fails, my kids are ALWAYS the only ones who made theirs, and the teachers are always the only ones who CARE that they did! hahaha NEVER have my kids come home from Valentines parties with a single homemade card...Dont' MOMMIES do those anymore? I have so much glitter in my carpet right now from Caroline's 22 V-D@Y cards....I'll NEVER get it out! We used doilies, construction paper, glitter, stickers, googly eyes, and feathers....WOW they were impressive!
