When my
husband up & left us again ~ Alex started taking his anger out in the wrong ways ~ throwing toys, pushing & hitting so his teacher asked me if he had any pets ~ "Duh! remember the horses & dog" She suggested that having something smaller that Alex could take care of by himself would make him feel better and take his mind off things. So one day when I was at our feed store I spotted small pets and Sergei is what we came home with. Alex feeds, waters and cleans his cage all by himself and has to say goodnight before he goes to bed or else he won't go. He's a pretty durable pet actually, Alex is always carrying him around and letting him run around the place. I came out in the living room one morning and Alex had him in the rescue basket of his HUGE Tonka fire engine, this after he had transported him from his room in his Horse trailer, and then he had him in the back of the dump truck too. If that's not durable / tolerant I don't know what is!
