This is the first in a series so more to come. Hallmark just doesn't do it when we lose a horse and the other card offerings are even worse so I'm developing a line. Please note that the message inside and the photo are copy righted which means that they may not be scanned or used in any way. I will be pulling them off Cafe Press and selling them through my web site soon (Cafe Press charges too much for shipping, making one card about $7.00). Be sure to click on the larger view or it doesn't look right. www.cafepress.com/equusmile.236306009

Lovely! Great idea. And great text ("it hurts to the core when they must leave us" - so true!).
On thing I noticed, in the text, "nicker" is spelled...nicker, not knicker.
Will you have a series made? Any B& W or Sepia ones? I love those.
When I lost my little Morgan, my vets sent me a lovely card, which showed a black and white drawing in pencil of a horse eating hay with a little bird next to his head. I still have that card, it was so lovely.

Holy cow! Thanks for catching that. I'll play with some sepia and black and white. Thanks so much for the feedback. I'd like to have a series of three. Perhaps one more for hang in there for during long recovery from injuries etc. The card you received sounds very sweet.

Can you make one of a horse walking on a wooden bridge?
One of a horse galloping free, mane and tail flying?
I once saw a photo of a horse standing in the snow under a huge tree, in a pasture, lit by a full moon. Photo was taken from behind and you could see the horse looking in the distance, and also looking so peaceful. It would be a good subject for a sympathy card, but hard to photograph I bet!

I do have a running horse I'm working on. I wanted to superimpose it with the rainbow against the mountains. It's supposed to storm this week so I'm hoping for a rainbow. In Utah, it's pretty baren so not a ton of lush pasture type scenes. There are some nice spots up in the mountains that might work. This weekend is supposed to be stormy -may or may not make for some interesting shots. The full moon would be so cool! Hehe, Michael wanna drive with me to the mountains? I know, it's midnight. Wanna go? ;D The way development is going around here unless I drive, I'll get horses in front of a brand new tract monster home. I have found a much better printer than CafePress too so I'll be doing a test print this week -with spelling corrected

The printer I use for my postcards and business cards can give me a better deal so I can sell them for a better price than Cafe Press. Once I have the rest of the cards ready to go, perhaps it would be economically worthwhile to ship them.
