As I slowly but surely make sure that MY name is attached as the last poster on each and every HR and NHR post here today...late at night...I thought I'd add that I am supposed to have received an update on lovely Babe's leg condition! #&*!@*#$^(*&!##@ ...or... :curse: :curse: if you prefer. Is she getting better? Was my prediction of a temporary kick-swelling correct? Or totally off the mark, as per usual? I hope she's all better and back to romping in the deep snow. That'll reduce her swelling, anyway.!!

Yes, I think we are due and update. Cypress is probably jealous of all those other horses romping in the snow.

Now, girls. I've practically written a book about Cypress in my initial string, though various fascinating subplots have developed (MiniVikki is back!) The Readers Digest Condensed version is this: She hyperextended her hock and MIGHT have torn the plantar ligament. But I'm totally in denial about the latter, since she is getting a little better. She strides out like a queen when I take her down the lane for exercise, the swelling is gradually reducing, and we are bonding over peppermints and warm mashes. But she's looking so lean this winter. I still want to move her to the Riding Centre. Cross fingers a stall will open for us soon! Anyway, romping in deep snow is not allowed, and may have caused the injury in the first place! Oh, rats.

Yikes! Didn't know there was a diagnosis of a possible tear - OUCH! Hopefully, that's not the case! And you know, the Queen is going to get very used to her royal treatment, then there'll be NO living with her. ;D

but not THAT condensed....
IF she tore the plantar ligament what does that mean? Prognosis etc?
I'm still happy and encouraged that the swelling is decreasing and she seems to be feeling better!

I don't know what the prognosis is for that injury and I refuse to look it up until I am sure it's the problem. Denial denial denial. It works for me.
