Im helping with a sale on this mare for the TB barn owner I work for. I dont have all the details yet. She is 5yo. Grey. OTT for about 2 months. I 'think' she roars but im not positive on this one. Will know real soon. Legs are clean, i will be putting her out tonight to get more of an idea on her movement. Still race fit. Has an attitude (Found she just makes some nasty faces when being fed, she is actually easy to handle)Update: I put her in a round pen and she is a cute mover. Nice stride.. Will be cheap. Needs to move asap! If anyone would like more info please email me at neens@optonline.net. Ill get pictures tonight. Located in NJ Here are some pics

Dineen I can't think that's the right pedigree. It would make her a record breaking elderly mare, wouldn't it? What's her registered name?

by a friend today... She is a really cute mover, usual unbalanced exracer deal but she tried really hard. Was even bending and giving to the bit a little. Very soft. Took well to leg pressure. Did walk/trot/canter including picking up both leads.. Had my kids running up to the fence screaming and flailing around and she didnt spook once. Colorful jumps in the ring and cows in the paddock acroos from it, didnt look twice. After 2x's around she relaxed her head and even framed up, looked to thoroughly enjoy it. No jigging or silliness. Went into and out of all three gaits with ease. Just a really nice mare (she does make some faces when you ask new things but once she got what was being asked she lightened up) I think she will take real quick to pleasure riding.

This is the info i have from the woman i work for and the owner of this horse (via vet). She has a partially paralyzed throat flap. The only discipline she CANT do is one that involves running at 40mph. She is fully capable of doing everything else without a problem.

She looks like a nice mare. What do you mean by a roarer? Where is she located and do you have any idea of the price?
Thanks.

I believe that throat-flap thing is entirely different from a roarer. Keely showed me a horse in her trainer's barn (not for sale) that had the throat-flap condition. He'd had surgery so he could race again. I don't believe it's a very serious condition, unless the horse will be used for a ultra-strenuous sport like racing.

Yes Exactly Lisann. She does not roar. She just can not race anymore and owner didnt want to put the money into the surgery, so he pulled her off the track. She really is a nice mare once you get past the faces. Which she isnt making as much anymore unless its when she is being fed. Poor girl just wants some attention. She is a very nice mover, sound.. not a pimple on her and is very willing. She is doing nicely w/t starting to come on the bit at these gaits. Canter needs work, she is NOT a runaway infact she really needs to be pushed.. more with seat then leg as she is still getting used to the whole leg issue and she makes some faces when you ask for more then a trot. You need to carry a whip/crop w/her or she wont move out. She has a lovely smooth trot with a beautiful stride. Really throws out her legs and points her toes. Has been taken over some cross rails and even a straight rail with a blue water tarp under it. Shre really could go in any direction. She does not come with papers. Owner will not release them so that she cant be run again. She is current on shots/worming/shoeing and has her coggins (they are still at the track though)...Im helping sell her and she is at my barn. The tb owner that i work for at night helps owners at the track recycle these lovely horsies so Im doing my part with her
