Sadly, for the third show season in a row, my daughter's 13 year old TB gelding has decided not to go over fences anymore. We have had him checked each season (by three different vets) and have yet to find a physical problem. So it is time to sell.
Like I said, he is 13 years old. He came off the track as a 4 year old, and we don't know what he did until we bought him 3 years ago. Is is almost 16H, chestnut with a white blaze. Very easy keeper and very easy going. Loads, clips, bathes, ties, and wonderful on trails. Goes in a full cheek snaffle. Nothing seems to phase him. He is wonderful on the flat - always in the ribbons. It's the jumping that he can't handle. We have tried other trainers and even had other people ride him over fences. There is something stuck in him that we just can't figure out.
He is a great kids horse with a lot of patience. Yes, he is kid safe. He would also be perfect for a mature person wanting a companion to ride. Buddy has the personality of a QH and the smarts of a TB. Great combination. We were very lucky to find him when we did. My daughter's riding has improved so much because of him, but she needs to be competitive in the show ring.
I can't afford 3 horses, so we have to sell one of them. Max is doing SOOO well right now, that I just can't part with him. So Buddy needs a new home.
If you or anyone you know is interested, please e-mail for details and pics. He is located just southwest of St. Louis.
He even neck reins and she just taught him to side pass. He's a good boy that needs a home that won't ask him to jump.
