Arnt the tracks going out of business? Im kind of sad about that, when I was a kid my best friends parents owned a racing kennel so i grew up around them, now I never hear about them anymore...it makes me feel old and depressed lol. I used to have 4 exracers, all dead of old age now, but i wanted to get another now.

There are a lot of greyhound organizations that get them from the track and find homes for them. In this area I can think of at least four. A friend of mine got one 3 years ago and has been VERY happy with him Check the internet for a greyhound adoption organization near you.

I work for a vet clinic that is literally 5 minutes from the greyhound track. We see a lot of the racing dogs for injuries, etc. But we also work with a placement group and spay/neuter/dental all the adopted dogs. There's a dog right now that needs a home, he's 8 I think, raced an awesome career, sired a few litters, trainer wants him to go to a super home. I already have 4 dogs so its a no go for me!
But yeah down here in Florida the track runs all the time and there are ALWAYS greys looking for homes.
