In the midst of the winter blues and the feeling of loss and frustration for so many of us, something dawned on me.... I was thinking about next week and valentines day when I realized that next Thursday Paco will have been with me for a YEAR! The donk that wasn't supposed to make it through the weekend. And it never would have happened without the support and help from all of you. So...you're invited to his party Anytime on Thursday indulge in one of your favorite treats or beverages!

These are from a week or so after I got him. Most of you have seen them before. I have some GREAT new ones on my digital camera and on actual photos, but my scanner doesn't work and my computer is too archaic to support the digital camera I'll snail mail a couple to anyone with a scanner that might be willing to scan?

Hung, that is...the previous owner. I may have made some mistakes but I felt at the time that I could do better in this community (I'm still relatively new and it si TIGHT good ol boys) if I presented myself as a person who might help out than as a person who would drag you through court and make you pay. Doesn't mean I didnt' wish ill on him several times!! Paco had been literally unable to stand for months, hence the bedsores on one side. When I got him he was raw and scabby, smelled putrid, couldn't stand for more than thirty seconds, malnourished, dehydrated and had horrible lung sounds. Now he just sounds horrible. Screaming at the geldings before charging them....even though he is only knee high

Happy birthday Paco. He's lucky he's actually knee-high, that alone was an asset... And, for having been on a horse when a troup of donkeys ran to us screaming their greetings, I would have loved to see your horses reactions the first time he did that...thanks for the happy thought

Lynne, I didn't realize that you got Paco on my birthday! No wonder I always felt a special bond with him. I am so glad that it all worked out. You worked very hard to make a difference. I will be in on the first plane to celebrate (well, in spirit, anyway....) Happy Anniversary, Paco!!! Linda

I do remember seeing those pictures but it still hurts to look at them. I SO glad you had the patience and gave him all the love and time he needed. I want to see a picture of him kicking up his heels!
