The last 2 weeks, I have actually looked forward to riding. I've been doing some cool free-lunge clicker stuff with Carambi. Before that, I was in complete hibernation mode-all I wanted to do was eat and eat and maybe sleep. I should have ridden yesterd@y as the weather was not too bad (ok it was 30 F but not much wind and I do ride in the indoor!). But nope, could not bring myself to go get either horse and tack up. Sigh....Is winter over yet??? Nope...BIG snow storm headed our way for the weekend. And I am still w/out my Subaru OK, that's my rant for the d@y!

I think lots of people have Seasonal Affective Disorder right now! (SAD) This cold and dark does NOTHING to get you motivated...my worst complaint is that is already dark when I come home from work... I HATE that. My favorite time of year is late June when the it's still light out at 10 p.m..... see, we are on the VERY western edge of the Eastern time zone...so during the long days of summer, we don't let the sun go down until like 8:30 p.m. EST, and that means light lingers till 10! Boy do I love that. Well, at least it's Happy Valentines' Day, right? I hear chocolate is real good for boosting your mood! hee hee

When I was in Ireland a few springs ago...it started getting light at 4:30 AM!!! And it didn't get dark until10:00!!! Punchestown had horses still doing cross country at 7:00 PM!!!!
I then understood why they had soooo many divisions at one 3-day. :horsie:
What I actually need is someone else to come and ride with me! I don't mind riding a few times a week solo but it gets old. Doesn't anyone want to come and share my wonderful horses and indoor???
It is now light until almost 6:00 pm. I get to the barn around 4:15 so there is plenty of time to ride before it gets dark now. Thank goodness for small favors ;D

.you have about 5 hours daylight. C'mon - you're right, get a friend to ride with you. Or, hey - what's wrong with carrots and cuddles!
Good luck and good cheer, CC
