Hi there everyone, I have had a major breakthrough with Lily being tied up. I was in the horsey shop today (aka heaven) buying a summer cover for her - the midges here are HORRENDOUS at the moment. Got chatting, much to partners disgust, and someone suggested looping a long rope around her rump, bringing it together on her back (saddle spot) and the bringing one length forward and putting it thru her halter and tying it to her lead.
That sounds completly irish but the big news is that IT WORKS!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I tied her up and brushed her for 40 mins today, she stamped her feet a bit but didn't move hardly at all. I managed to get her blanket on by myself and although she wasn't too impressed with it she just stood there!...
Sunday we will try the saddle and then when her head mends, I would say another two weeks the bridle should be on her.
Now off to bed, the sunstroke is setting in... *G*... loverly summers day here today. Have a good one. Bindi.

Hey! What's up with the Irish? Hehehe, I am Irish, own 2 Irish horses,so watch it!
Just kidding, well, I am Irish mostly, BUT... I did learn some new tricks in Ireland~also about tying a horse to stand, and it totally worked, with little stress to both Nate and I ;D
So you just got Lily? I just got Porter, it's so much fun isn't it?! But all I want to do is hop on him, and start jumping, not to smart, but hey, I am Irish ;D

yes, I have had Lily two weeks this Mon. We have come so far, would LOVE to be riding her, had a ride before I bought her. Unfortunatly she reared as she came out of the float and cut her head above her eye which means no bridle till she has all healed.
It is wonderful, become a bit of an obsession but that's cool. It seems to be all I am able to talk about... hehe... folk are starting to think that I am loopy. :loon: :loon: :loon: :loon:
Have to work 12 hours today so no time to spend with her but tomorrow is my day off so watch out Lily girl, now I have her tied it's time to try out the saddle.

Bindi, I would just about die to be able to get an Austrailian or New Zealand TB! Talk about a dream horse. But of coarse, first I would have to fly there and try them out ;D What a trip that would be!!

Michelle, come on down - it is so beautiful... aussie is cool too, we have just spent 15 years there way up north in the outback. It is so green here.... beautiful... I have been back in NZ 1 year and still pinching myself that I have come home. It's a bit backward but still great, just pretty slooooow.. *L*..
