I haven't fed in 4 days, Steve has. I get home around 9pm and we all know how angry horsies would be if they had to wait that long to eat ;D This morning I was feeding and pulling off blankets (finally warm enough to!) and lo and behold...Porter is GAINING weight!
He now looks like a horse off the track, not an endangered spieces! I'm so happy. He's 16'2 but never looked big because he was so thin, but I think he will be big after all. Now if I could just figure out what going on with his feet. Maybe I'll post a pic. It's just weird.
[glow=red,2,300]Yeah for Porter[/glow] It's been 4 months and we are finally seeing some improvement. Now we just need 150 more pounds, muscles, and some training ;D

I must have a new photo! I bet his tummy feels all better and he's just CHOWING his food these days. How wonderful for Porter-Pony. Now...what's up with his feet? are they funny shaped, funny looking, funny-hurty? You know, with his incident of ALMOST DYING, you will probably see a significant hoof ring, dishing, scaling, or whatever around the timing of the incident. He may take a year to grow a whole new hoof past his near-death experience.

Smay, I'll go out and get a picture. I had a farrier at the clinic pull his shoes and trim him, maybe 5 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago I noticed there was like no bottom to one of his feet~I'll get a picture. Anyway, no lameness, but I stop lunging him, until I know what's up. We're going in for a third scope in a week, and because he's not lame, I just let him be.
Hehehe, I got some good "before" ie endangered speices, pictures ;D Now, he's become quite the hay snob, and doesn't eat it all up anymore, Nate (only gets 3 flakes twice a day plus 1 scoop 10% sweet feed twice a day, and he ROTUND!) looks longinly at Porter's wasted hay.
I'll go get some pics of him, be right back ;D

I can't believe it's been 4 months. I would have guessed maybe two...I bet he is just as happy as a clam. So glad to hear he's coming along nicely.

It's so nice to hear that he's gaining weight and doing fine. And yes, those before/during/after pics are SO dramatic and always interesting!
