I floated this question once before and got a few suggestions, but let me try again.
I need a clear picture of a nice horse. Not head on, and not a typical side-view conformation shot. What you'd see if the horse was moving laterally, on a diagonal toward you, and you could see the ribs and haunches as well as the head and shoulders. Know what I mean? I find lots of "shoulder in" photos that are taken straight on--probably to capture the crossing of the legs. But I'm less interested in dressage quality than whole horse movement with a pretty, dancing feel. Something an artist could capture in a few simple lines.
Zen Rider?! Got anything in your album?

Now honey, if you can't find any "dancing horses" on THIS website, you just can't find it anywhere! This is a jawdropping, awe inspiring series of photos....don't see the EXACT one you're looking for BUT...take a look just for kicks www.dressageworld.de/dressurwelten/barock/

Will have to look, but I usually can't get close enough to get good dressage shots, so I don't take many. Now if you are looking to take a picture yourself, dedicate a whole roll. No really, be prepared to take a bunch of pics, position yourself in different locations more or less in the horses pass and click. Repeat several times and hopefully one will come out the way you want.

Okay....here's the project. We are designing a memorial plaque (sp?) to honor somebody (blah blah details details). The layout will be a block of text with images on both sides, kind of framing the text. On the right will be a simple image of a dancer, on the left will be a horse. The dancer drawing looks good, but the artist had a big old horse head on the other side--proportionally wrong and heavy looking. A whole horse would look better, but we want the form of the horse to echo the bending form of the dancer. That's why I'm looking for this view. Can't believe how hard it is to find! Thanks for all your suggestions.
Lynne! Don't be silly! Your comprehension is just dandy. It's my writing that's the problem. I want to sign up for one of your essay-writing workshops. How much do you charge? Will there be snacks?

YES! Why doesn't everybody photograph horses from such an angle! That's really cool! Thanks!
