I love Appies too.
That looks like a nice mare. What is her breeding?
(Slapping myself because I SWORE not to buy any more Appies until I "retire."--that's in quotes because I don't really "work." Hehe.)

The less I think about them the less not having Appies will bother me. Why don't you breed this pretty mare to the reining stallion? Who is the reining stallion? OH that was you Sue with the old mare dilemma right?

I took care of Paddy all winter (babysitting for girlfriend).....I rubbed Paddy's bellie and talked to the foal every morning.... all I knew was Paddy was a QH.... I am really attached to this mare......yesterday I find out that she is appendix..... I new she had a pretty thoroughbred head..... little colt has mama's head. I believe if she produces a bay filly she will come up for sale.... I was the first one to see new baby ;D
Yep Jennifer.... I got the chance to experience taking care of mama..... I think I will mention to her owner I am interested in her.... she has fire..... on back legs fighting Diego over the fence in full pregnancy!!!! Tough as nails mare... I like horses like that. Not much for the horses that are quiet. Appy stud is Mr. Genuine Joe out Miss Jo Dee Glo (dam of NRHA Champion Glo Plus One by Smart Chic O'Lena)...out Mr Joe Glo.... his full brother is Custom Glo... 4th in nation in 2001 in Appy Open Reining and did well in 2002. Mr. Genuine Joe's sire is Macho Son.

more popular. I have better luck selling NC Appies as grade QHs. People seldom WANT an Appaloosa. Oh well.
You should have no trouble finding a nice Appy mare to LEASE for a year. A LOT of Appy breeders are phasing into QHs. You should be able to find a World quality non-riding mare (one that's oldish or possibly been injured) for under 2K no problem, or lease one for free.
I have a friend who breeds Appies and she occassionally leases a mare and then has the owner REFUSE to take her back and just sign the horse over!

Yep, I am a closet appy lover! Rode one (my mother's actually) as a kid!
And bays and chestnuts with bright, colorful blankets are my fav!
