Well. It has now locked me out because I 'tried to log-in from another device'.
No. No. Same old laptop. Grrr.
(Niaru - you are an evil Maman! Aren't you glad your mother couldn't - errr - 'listen in' when you were a teenager??)

In the last few days, I have been ragged on by friends of mine about not having an account *SIGH* Guess the phone isn't good enough anymore!!!LOL Friends, family, strangers... I'm not a big fan of Facebook, but like you, to keep in touch, or regain touch, it seems like it may be the only way. Apparently emails have become too hard for some. I wasn't all that crazy about MySpace and yet I did finally do that...just before everyone bailed to Facebook. Since I've stopped using MySpace, last time I checked, it has taken a life of it's own. I still like forums and like the semi private conversations that can be had here. As for those other sites, kids are going to those other sites largely to get away from their parents. People at work have been laughing at my old flip phone, as well as others. Which! I may be keeping a while yet, as the phone I was looking at instead of coming down in price this month, went up! What the hell was that about? So I wait. OK, might stop at a store, or call customer service, and see if they'll work a deal for me. I've had the same phone for 6 years, I think I've paid out enough for a few smartphones by now. Otherwise, I've waited this long a little longer won't make much of a difference.

Hi everyone. I saw Bara's post and Had to reply. I'm NOT on Facebook, I'm hardly on the computer. When I retired, I decided to retire from EVERYTHING.....well Electronic thing. I HATE TYPING. I like the old fashioned way to communicate-----TELEPHONE or in person preferably at a restaurant over a bottle of wine ! But telephones seem to be a PITA for everyone. Seems everyone has ditched their home phones for cell phones........I HATE CELL PHONES. Never know where people are when you call them and I've gotten people on the cell DRIVING. When I was buying my house, the salesman's wife was killed. She had just hung up her cell and didn't see the red light. She was T-boned by a truck and killed instantly. I do have a cell, but only use it for long distance. Seems the more 'convenient' electronic devices we have THE LESS WE COMMUNICATE. Not to mention the LESS convenient they are. Have you noticed how we have all this electronic stuff and when you go to use it IT DOESN'T WORK? ? It's the device, the system, the weather.....and on and on. I get sick of it. I"m old. I HAVE NO PATIENCE I just want to turn it on.....AND IT WORKS......RIGHT. I don't have to become an electronics troubleshooter expert.....grrrrrrrrr. When they changed the television signal, I couldn't get it. I sit in a narrow valley. Can't get the signal and I REFUSE TO GET CABLE. Don't have TV except what I can get on the computer, which, when it works right, turns out to be a good way to watch TV. I got to see ALL the breeder's cup races this year for THE FIRST TIME i wish they would broadcast the triple crown races like that. Well, you can get them, BUT you have to pay extra, which I won't do. Now I listen to public radio all the time, although that can get depressing after awhile. TOOOO much reality. and it ain't good........ well, better get to mucking stalls and feeding. god they're so demanding........... tired and retired........

Now there's a proper rant! Hi Truth. As it is, many of us would have never met without the internet. I do find it strange that so many people wanting to reconnect with people they have been out of their lives for years on Facebook, are happy to disconnect with everyone they had been in touch with before Facebook.

Don't be daft! I've met a few old friends on 'Linked-In' - and glad to. But from the initial 'Do you know?' we've gone on to speak on email.
There's very little personal stuff I could think of disseminating to the world and the guy with pigs' ears.
Just me.

No way We've all been too busy on FB Hehehehehehehe. I have crops to harvest and plant and horses, cows, chicken, goats, etc that need feeding. I have can't remember how many on one game and a whole nother farm on a other. Oh and the fish tanks need feeding and fish to sell and buy and gifts to send. In the real world there are real dogs to feed and birdcages to clean ICK, etc, etc, etc.

LOL! I love the rants Zen I wanted to hold on to my old slide phone (slight upgrade from your flip phone, lol!) but I may be forced to buy a (gasp) smart phone. My old phone just isn't working well anymore, and I am told that if I upgrade we get a great deal on international calls...I think I'll go to the store with my oldest daughter, tho, she knows WAY more about all of it than I do

LOL! You're WAY too young and pretty, Niaru, to be giving way to your oh- so lovely girls! I won't have it!
Somewhere, I have a picture of a very beautiful little Brooks ... I've just recently received some pictures of a pretty little girl who became a girlfriend of mine called Cat.
Now - where's Ann and young Yvette? And Tee? Where are you, Gail?
Terrie? Where's little Sammie?
