As a gift for my daughter, I am making a blouse. It's beautiful! And sweet, if I do say so, because I'm following an antique pattern, one that I used 30 years ago to make the same shirt for myself. Retro chic, right? So, after carefully piecing and stitching and hand-hemming, I hold the thing up and realize... ...30 years ago, was also 30 pounds ago. Yes, I was spindly. My daughter inherited her curves from her grandmothers. Neither of them was ever spindly. What was I thinking!!! Gussets?

Too funny. I have patterns too but I know they are too small for me know. Use to make a lot of my clothes too.

We need a picture of you in the original - and Daughter in the new one when it's finished.
(Polite Protest. Which daughter? I absolutely KNOW they have names. I even know the names.)

No photographic evidence! And it's for Carolyn. Except, now it's for the next skinny girl I see.

Yeah, I think one of the smart moves I had was getting rid of all the stuff that proves how thin I once was. Perhaps more, not even thinking of trying on some of the stuff I still have....
