Just submitted a vacation request for some time off in October! My daughter and her boyfriend will be visiting from Idaho. I miss that kid so much! We've been doing a little home maintenance, too, so I hope we keep the momentum going this fall. I really want a shed. Here's my idea of the perfect little outbuilding for lawn tools: The Quaker, from Beachy Barns I think we MUST have a barn called "The Quaker," don't you? We'd paint it white to match the house. with a brown shingle roof.

I want new doors on my shed Ann before winter hits. Been busy putting up green beans, blueberries, corn and other veggies. I would like some cooler weather so the giant horse flies will go away.
Christmas?? not even thinking about it yet.

As I get older the months and years just fly by. In my younger days a year was an eternity and Summer vacation from school was a forever thing, too. This Fall I would really like a new front door. The existing one is a solid door and probably the original one when this house was built. I want one with windows called "lites". A trip to Colorado to see the Aspen turn yellow would be really nice, but the wild fires will probably put an end to that happening. Plus having a husband who is such a homebody and loves his recliner.

I think it's still July here - temps been sitting at 90° and better for nearly 3 weeks and long range says more of the same for their best guesses.
Noticed some poplars turning here today, not on my yard but on a neighbour's. My old cottonwoods and black poplars are still nice and green except where some spray drift hit and that bit is nasty dead brown. It'll come back though, the wood is still alive.

'The Quaker' s perfect, my Friend!
Mine is more of a 'Shaker'. The Shetland gales have already torn the door off once, last winter.
Thank heavens for 'Stuart-The-Joiner', who comes up; tuts and walks round it, demands a stupid amount of money, then replaces the hinges for a pittance. So I play the game; tut and puff and demand an 'invoice'.
Then - I waive the invoice and make the tea - while Stuart tries to persuade me I need a new shed. I'll print off your 'Quaker' and tell Stuart 'this is the one I want'.
Could backfire!
