Fantastic! They look great together. So solid and confident. Did Caroline go with Ghost, too? I don't see them in these photos.

Cool Thea! So how did you see these photos? I can't log in. Did they give you a log in? BTW Shelby was a star yesterday and Saturday too with Zac... Man that kid is brave. Caroline was a nervous wreck over XC although it went well for her...Shelby was raring to go with no qualms whatsoever! haha Funniest part of the weekend: I'm standing at the scoring table looking at Caroline's dressage test and some random tall teenager asks me a question about the schedule, thinking I'm an official. There are over 275 horses and riders entered this weekend. The random teen is SHELBY and I didn't even recognize her since she grew about 6" since I saw her at Rolex in 2012. haha!

Exracers and their offspring have magnets! Love it that Shelby met you at the scoring table. And Caroline looks great, too! Did Ghost put on a couple hundred pounds, or did I just forget what a solid guy he is!

It was hilarious that Shelby and Suzy found each other! And yeah, Shelby has sprouted quite a bit. Shelby is pretty fearless when it comes to cross country, she and Zak absolutely love it! Dressage scares her half to death, and she usually overthinks and over-warms-up for show jumping. Caroline is soooo grown-up! She looked so elegant on Ghost in SJ. It was funny, earlier I called hello and waved at her as she rode by me, but she had no idea who I was.
Shelby did not so as well as she had hoped this weekend. SJ was a hot mess, and she and Zak have some basic gymnastics to go back and work on. I have talked her out of going to the expensive event in August in exchange for getting some specialized lessons in dressage and jumping. I keep reminding her that this is her first year, and we are using it to figure everything out. But she gets so disappointed when she doesn't do well. She also has to learn to let that roll off her back and move on. She got a taste of being in the ribbons at her last event, and now she wants that every time. Ah to be 15 again...

The camera adds 10 pounds Ad! hahaha
Actually Thea - Shelby was having a fantastic stadium until he got going a little fast on that downhill and went flat... A LOT of people did that yesterday! We were actually lucky that Ghost was being extremely lazy Sunday and never got going too fast. He nearly ran out of gas over the last combination and she had to spur him and he got mad and BUCKED! haha

So Suzy, when and where is Caroline going to college? There is a team event at Honey Run in early October at Honey Run (Ann Arbor). Shelby and Caroline could be a team! (with one other rider)

She's staying home for her first two years because I work at a community college where she gets free tuition, so... What do they do in a team event? Is Honey Run that one you were talking about that is real hilly and scary? hahaha

No, Honey Run was very friendly, nearly flat. Hunters Run is the scary course! Honey Run is where Shelby got her 6th. Apparently riders compete as a team of 3-4. If you go to the TEAM website, it is under "Events Information", the last one on the list. There are also 2 more eventing derbys at Cobblestone, and one at Hunters Run, listed under Clinics/Schooling. We're definitely doing a couple of those, September and October should be nice and cool!

Stranger danger! Funny you two running into each others daughters and them not recognizing either of you. Best of luck at their next events.
