Well, Zen only trained to race, but as a guess, was too clumsy to start. Perhaps some minor badly timed injuries as well? He's much better now and from time to time I'd get a thought to race him years ago, but well, not in my budget and I prefer to do things where I can do the riding. He would have been fast, but not mature enough for racing until he was around 6. Probably the fastest horse I've ever ridden. Guy ran all of 6 times as a 3 year old. Was sixth in his first race at 6 furlongs, won his second race at a mile in 1:45.32 at Great Lakes Downs under the same jockey. Then he raced at Arlington once and Hawthorne three times with no real effort under three different jockeys. Which makes one wonder if they were just trying to find the right jockey for him or if no one wanted to ride him more then once. Either way in the last four races he was 9 of 9, 10 of 10, 11 of 12, and 9 of 9. The owner also took over training when he moved to Illinois. One has to wonder, since he did well in Michigan why they didn't just send him back to the trainer there? Anyway, he had a grand total of $3,161 in winnings. So likely not the winningest or fastest on the board.

hahaha, zen. i was going to say truth could eat faster, BUT, what he actually does is kick ollie out of his feed bucket even though he didn't finish his own food as far as the track..... he raced 10 times as a 3 & 4 year old had a 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th and won 4,000. truth's sire ran in the ky derby against ferdinand. he came in 6th or 8th. he too ended up in japan. i don't know anything about ollie's race record. and then there's boy genius.......my stakes winner. he won half a million on the track. ;D jenarby could tell you more about his race record. i have to dig out his papers to get the particulars. it is fun to look at their race records, breeding and other history.

Boy Genius x Beau Genius, Splash Em Baby x Bucksplasher
he won the labor day handicap/stakes in '99, and the slipton fell handicap/stakes in '99, '00, and '01.

Charm only won $35,000 in her whole racing career, but she's the QUEEN of the MudBath! Remember this?

OMG niaru that is too funny. I do remember that pic.
Goalie did well but no where near half a million. Little Billy (aka Harbor of Grace) had over $400,000 in his career. I need to go look up Bird.
